CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP:

• 1. Current licensure as a registered nurse in NC.
• 2. Current member of School Nurse Association of NC. (Membership will be verified)
• 3. A minimum of one academic year experience as a school nurse.
• 4. Acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate educational institution. Confirmation will include an acceptance letter or an unofficial copy of the applicant’s transcript.
• 5. Scholarship awards shall not be limited to study in a school of nursing but, may be used for study in an accredited program at an academic institution that will advance the applicant’s competence in the practice of school nursing.
• 6. An essay should be submitted explaining reasons for pursuing the educational studies and the relationship of the studies to career expectations in school nursing.
• 7. Include one letter of recommendation from a former supervisor or employer in school health who has knowledge of the applicant’s professional abilities.
• 8. Applications must be submitted to the scholarship committee by May 14th annually.
