Dear SNANC, I am a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin (School of Nursing) with a focus on adolescent mental health and school nurses. I am conducting a nationwide online survey of school nurses, for my dissertation study, to provide a better understanding of the current mental health interventions that school nurses provide to their adolescent students (grades 6 through 12), as well as factors that may support or hinder them. Learning about school nurse current practices will help identify opportunities to provide additional support, allow for advocacy to create positive changes in mental health interventions, and can have future policy implications. Can you please share this survey with your school nurses? It should take 20-25 minutes and it will make a positive difference. It will be valuable to learn about the experiences of North Carolina's school nurses. Thank you so much! Each school nurse who completes the survey will also have an opportunity to enter into a drawing to win a $50 gift card (55 available). The data obtained from this survey will be confidential, and no identifying information will be obtained. Your time and input are highly valued, and I greatly appreciate all your help and support. Adolescent mental health is a big issue, and continues to grow, especially during the pandemic. You play a large role, and it is vital to improving mental health outcomes. Please email me with a request (ahoskote@utexas.edu), and I will send you the results after its completion so you can see how your participation made a difference!
